Safety First: AI's big four join forces

OpenAI, Google, Anthropic and Microsoft want responsible AI development

Hi folks!πŸ‘‹πŸ» This is the Prompt. Pull up a chair, we've got some AI news to share. No bells, no whistles, just the facts.

Let's get it

FEATURED

Big AI tech joining forces to mitigate risks and promote safe AI

OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, and Microsoft are joining forces (yes, you read that right)

They are forming a β€œFrontier Model Forum” to promote the safe and responsible development of AI.

The goal is to utilize the technical and operational expertise of the companies to benefit the entire AI ecosystem β€” but also to ensure that all of their AI models are developed and deployed responsibly.

It’s nice that the biggest AI companies can coordinate to align their AI work on one common ground β€” but how reliable can their work be? Asking for a friend.

How will it work

The Frontier Model Forum will establish an Advisory Board to help guide its strategy and priorities. They also plan to consult civil society and governments to design their work and safety standards.

New members are also welcomed β€” but it seems like no one invited Zuck or Elon to be part of the founding team πŸ₯²Β

NEW TECH

ShortGPT πŸŽ₯

I discovered ShortGPT yesterday and wanted to share it with all of you.

It’s a framework for video editing using language models.

For example, you can make a YouTube short by answering a few questions and writing a short prompt.

It can also add voice-overs, source assets from the internet, and generate captions.

Check their channel to see the examples they created, or watch the full demo here.

Currently, you can run the code locally, or in Colab.
