Inflection, founded by Reid Hoffman (founder of Linkedin) and Mustafa Suleyman (founding member of DeepMind) launched Pi - your personal AI.

It works like ChatGPT, with some extra animations + voice answers. No voice input yet.

And … it uses GPT-3 under the hood (I actually checked👇🏻)

Inflection raised a whooping $223 Million to build this.

WHAT ELSE IS GOING ON

🦙 IBM to freeze hiring and replace 7,800 jobs with AI. Arvind Krishna, the company’s CEO shared that 30% of non-customer-facing jobs could be axed by AI. Humans will soon be competing against machines for the "Employee of the Month" awards.

👀 The Godfather of AI leaves Google and warns of AI. Geoffrey Hinton worries that AI will spread misinformation will take jobs (ahem IBM), and create “killer robots”… A part of him, he said, now regrets his life’s work.

👀 Midjourney published a new version (v5.1). V5.1 is more opinionated (like V4) and is MUCH easier to use with short prompts. You need to enable it to use it. Check Midjourney’s Discord for a step-by-step guide.

📲 Samsung banned generative-ai on the company’s devices. They’re worried about data privacy — specifically with data being stored on external servers, with a chance to be leaked.

🏋🏻‍♀️  ChatGPT is starting to destroy companies: First up Chegg. In their earnings call, the company’s CEO shared that the chatbot destroyed company earnings, causing the stock to plummet by 50%. So, yes… ChatGPT is having a nice impact on many of us (aka Inflation AI), but it will also be the downfall of many companies like Chegg.
