OpenAI promised — and delivered, again.

Yesterday, they announced a few major updates for their core models and API functionality.

Here’s your summary👇🏻

16K Context length

They shipped new versions of the GPT-4 and GPT-3.5 versions, but one version is the most wanted option.

The gpt-3.5-turbo-16k will offer 4 times the context length of gpt-3.5-turbo at twice the price: $0.003 per 1K input tokens and $0.004 per 1K output tokens.

You can now add ~20 pages of text in one single prompt.🤯

Function calling for the ChatGPT API

With Function calling you can basically integrate your external tools to work with ChatGPT.

How does it work?

You basically describe a function in an API call and have the model intelligently write a “JSON” object to call those functions. Here’s an example.

The cost for the text-embedding-ada-002 model is reduced by 75% to $0.0001 per 1K tokens.

👀 AMD reveals a new A.I. chip to challenge Nvidia. The chip is designed for large language models and other cutting-edge AI models — and can use up to 192GB of memory, which means it can fit even bigger AI models than other chips (NVIDIA’s most powerful chip can fit 120GB)

🏋🏻‍♀️  Synthesia raised a $90M Series C investment. This is an AI video generator tool that helps you create professional videos with narration from their collection of 140 diverse AI avatars.
